ABOUT
The Willamette Falls Percussion Ensemble, founded in the Winter of 2004 by northwest percussionists Mark Reagan and David C. Lauder, is a unique youth-arts organization dedicated to the advance of both classical and rudimental techniques and styles performed within the modern symphonic percussion and marching percussion idioms. WFPE exists cheifly to motivate percussionists with deep interest in furthering their proficency within these genres and expanding the performance opportunities of the greater WFS organization. Because these unique musical styles were somewhat lacking in opportunities available to music students in the greater Clackamas and surrounding areas, the creation of an official percussion class benefiting these players and their respective music education programs was in order. The creation of the WFPE presents an opportunity for our dedicated staff to offer the percussive “tools of the trade” within formal educational courses. The concept of offering the students the experience of participating in large and exciting percussion ensembles, creating outstanding educational experiences along with rewarding live performance and competitive opportunities continue to be the shared goals of our organization.
